Mariam Hall, CFMP

Mariam Hall has been with Peak Trust Company since 2018, currently as Marketing Coordinator & Communications Coordinator. In her role, Mariam manages the execution of all marketing, communications and public relations functions and supports the strategic alignment of growth and process improvement initiatives across every department. In addition to her marketing and communications role, Mariam is a contributing member of Peak’s Operations Technology Steering Committee, a subcommittee of the firm’s trust committee focused on the continuous improvement of Peak’s operational excellence through the adoption of technology.

Mariam is active in the Anchorage estate planning community. She previously served as Executive Director of the Anchorage Estate Planning Council, and remains an active member of the council. Mariam is also closely involved in efforts to support the creation and passing of trust and estate legislation in Alaska. Since spearheading its inception in early 2019, Mariam has continued to run the administrative functions of Alaska Trust & Estate Professionals (ATEP), a formal working group established to further advance Alaska’s trust and estate planning law for the benefit of Alaska and Alaskan professionals.

Mariam brings over a decade of experience in C-level executive support, event coordination, digital marketing, and business development. As a dynamic thinker and strong communicator, she is passionate about providing top-tier operational support and coordinating strategy development and implementation. Mariam has co-authored several articles and frequently writes educational content on a variety of trust and estate planning topics. Prior to stepping into her current role, Mariam first joined the Peak team as Executive Assistant to the President and CEO. Mariam earned her Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) designation from the American Bankers Association.

Jillian Johnson

Jillian Johnson has been with Peak Trust Company since 2020 and serves as a Fiduciary Officer in the Nevada office, where she oversees the administration of Nevada trusts. Her expertise spans the establishment and administration of Directed Trusts, Incomplete Non-Grantor Trusts, Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts, and trusts holding unique or illiquid assets such as closely held business interests, private equity, and real estate. Jillian’s attention to detail and ability to navigate complex trust structures are integral to helping clients achieve their estate planning and wealth preservation goals.

Within the Las Vegas estate planning community, Jillian is an active member of the Southern Nevada Estate Planning Council, collaborating with attorneys, financial advisors, and other professionals to provide comprehensive trust solutions. Her involvement reflects Peak Trust Company’s commitment to being a trusted partner for the professional advisory community.

Before becoming a Fiduciary Officer, Jillian gained invaluable experience across several key roles at Peak Trust Company, including trust administration, trust operations, and accounts payable and receivable. This breadth of experience has given her a deep understanding of the operational and client-facing aspects of trust administration, enabling her to deliver exceptional service tailored to each client’s needs.

With over a decade of experience in trust administration and extensive collaboration with estate planning attorneys and financial advisors, Jillian is dedicated to providing personalized and proactive guidance. She is currently pursuing her Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from Cannon Financial Institute, further solidifying her expertise in trust and fiduciary services.

Jillian’s dedication to professional growth and her holistic approach to trust administration make her a vital resource for Peak Trust Company’s clients and a key contributor to the company’s mission of delivering sophisticated, client-centric fiduciary solutions.

Lorie Johnson

Lorie Johnson serves as the Front Desk Receptionist at Peak Trust Company, bringing over 12 years of experience in banking, financial services, and office management. She has a strong background in customer service, administrative support, and regulatory compliance. In her role, she ensures smooth daily operations and provides a welcoming experience for clients and visitors.

Before joining Peak Trust Company, Lorie held various positions in banking and financial services. As an Administrative Assistant at a financial advisory firm, she facilitated financial transactions and managed compliance processes. She also worked as a Senior Tax Specialist at a tax services company, assisting clients with tax planning and reporting. Her experience includes customer service roles where she supported clients with account maintenance, fraud claims, and billing inquiries.

Lorie holds a Master’s degree in Public Relations and a Graduate Certificate in Internet Marketing from Full Sail University. She also earned Bachelor’s degrees in Sports Management and Journalism from Arkansas State University.

With her extensive experience and commitment to client service, Lorie plays an integral role in maintaining a professional and efficient front office at Peak Trust Company.

Nichole King, CTFA

Nichole King has been with Peak Trust Company since 2019 and serves as Senior Fiduciary Officer. In this role, she provides strategic leadership for the firm’s Nevada operations while overseeing complex trust administration and client relationships. Nichole is responsible for trust document review, fiduciary oversight, and ensuring that each account is administered in accordance with governing instruments and applicable law. Her leadership supports the continued growth of the Nevada office and reinforces Peak’s high standard of service.

Nichole works closely with clients and their advisors to establish and administer a wide range of sophisticated planning structures. Her expertise includes Directed Trusts, Incomplete Non Grantor Trusts, Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts, and trusts holding unique or closely held assets. She is known for her thoughtful and solutions oriented approach to navigating complex family dynamics, intricate trust provisions, and specialized asset holdings, providing clarity and confidence throughout the administration process.

With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, including over a decade dedicated to trust administration, Nichole brings seasoned insight and practical experience to her role. Prior to joining Peak, she held several positions within the financial services industry, most recently serving as Senior Fiduciary Administrator at Wells Fargo. Her institutional background provides her with a strong understanding of fiduciary risk management, regulatory considerations, and best practices in trust administration.

Nichole is an active member of the Southern Nevada Estate Planning Council and serves as a Board Member of the Nevada Fiduciary Association. She remains engaged in the professional community to stay at the forefront of developments in trust and estate planning. Nichole earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of North Dakota and holds the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation from the American Bankers Association, reflecting her ongoing commitment to professional excellence.

Lars Laundrup, CISSP

Lars Laundrup joined Peak Trust Company in 2023 as Information Security Specialist, bringing over 7 years of cybersecurity and IT experience protecting confidential data in heavily regulated industries. He most recently served as a Security Consultant orchestrating audit compliance, vulnerability assessments, access controls, and incident response for a 21-location healthcare organization.

Leveraging hands-on technical expertise securing networks, endpoints and cloud platforms, Lars now oversees key initiatives impacting Peak’s security posture – including perimeter defenses, access governance, employee awareness and event monitoring. In addition to his information security role, Lars is a contributing member of Peak’s Operations Technology Steering Committee, a subcommittee of the firm’s Trust Committee focused on the continuous improvement of Peak’s operational excellence through the adoption of technology. while upholding strict regulatory obligations.

A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Lars earned his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Management from National University. He maintains additional industry credentials including CompTIA Security+, Fortinet NSE 4 and Sophos Firewall Engineer. By optimizing information security protocols and instilling data protection best practices across the company, Lars empowers the Peak Trust Company team to safely uphold fiduciary duties and provide excellent service as the firm scales exponentially.

Geoffrey Longhurst, CFIRS

Geoffrey Longhurst has been with Peak Trust Company since 2019 as a Compliance Specialist.  In this role, Geoffrey works with regulators and third-party auditors supporting the continuous development of the Company’s regulatory and fiduciary best practices compliance program. 

Geoffrey co-chair’s Peak’s Operations Technology Steering Committee, a subcommittee of the firm’s trust committee focused on the continuous improvement of Peak’s operational excellence through the adoption of technology.

Prior to joining Peak full-time, Geoffrey interned at Peak Trust Company in the summer of 2016 gaining valuable exposure to both the operations and trust administration departments. Geoffrey earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science with a minor in French from South Dakota State University where he swam competitively at a Division I Level. Geoffrey holds the Certified Fiduciary Risk Investment Specialist (CFIRS) designation from Cannon Financial School.

Erica Martirez

Erica Martirez has been with Peak Trust Company since 2022 as Operations Specialist. In her operations role, Erica is responsible for the daily back-office banking operations functions for the Nevada office including cash management and balancing, processing electronic transactions for incoming and outgoing distributions, processing trades, and posting transactions to client accounts.

Prior to joining Peak, Erica worked in banking and financial services operations roles in a local credit union for over 18 years. Erica brings a well-rounded background to her role from many different areas of banking operations including member services, loan operations, and debit card services. Erica graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills with her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Management.

Jean Mead

Jean Mead brings over 15 years of comprehensive accounting and finance experience to her role as Accounts Receivable Specialist in our Nevada office. With a strong foundation in financial analysis, reporting, and account management, Jean plays a vital role in maintaining the financial health and efficiency of our organization. Jean’s expertise spans the full spectrum of accounting functions, including invoice processing, payment collections, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Her meticulous attention to detail and superior analytical skills ensure accuracy and timeliness in all accounts receivable operations.

Prior to joining our team, Jean held progressive roles at notable organizations in the financial services, hospitality, and manufacturing sectors. Her diverse background includes experience in client invoicing and payment processing, financial analysis, month-end close processes, and financial statement preparation across multiple industries. Jean is proficient in numerous accounting platforms and enterprise software systems, including advanced Microsoft Office applications. This technical versatility, combined with her collaborative approach and creative problem-solving abilities, makes her an invaluable asset to our finance team.

Jean holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the National College of Business & Arts in Manila, Philippines, and has continued her professional development through coursework at Santa Rosa Junior College.

Known for her commitment to excellent customer service and her ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike, Jean consistently delivers results while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Heather Popowych

Heather Popowych serves as Policy & Procedure Unification Specialist within Peak Trust Company’s compliance department. In this role, Heather contributes to standardization, documentation and alignment of all policies, controls, workflows and training programs across the enterprise.

Leveraging project management expertise from her background, Heather facilitates cross-functional input to update legacy documentation, identify control gaps, consolidate redundant protocols and track version control. Her work reduces operational risk while ensuring procedural consistency.

Prior to her current position, Heather supported Peak ‘s executive team as an Executive Assistant where she gained valuable insights into leadership priorities and challenges. Over her earlier career, Heather managed complex initiatives across data systems and human resources functions in the private sector.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources from the University of Oklahoma. She applies analytical thinking, communication skills and an eye for detail in her mission to optimize Peak Trust Company’s policy infrastructure amid ongoing expansion.
